RED RIBBON WEEK

red ribbon During the last week of October we celebrated Red Ribbon Week by wearing ribbons, and decorating our classroom doors. I like incorporating the kids' work into everything we do, so they helped to create our door.  If you would like to find out more about the history of Red Ribbon Week and look at some different activities that your child or children could do, please click on the red, underlined words.

We decided to use the initials of each of the 6+1 to portray our stance on having a "drug free" world.  In order, the 6+1 Traits are Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, Conventions, and Presentation.  The title and sentences on our door were as follows:  The 6+1 Traits of a Healthy Person are:   1) Idolize-the people who do the right thing, and not those who don't.  2)  Overcome-bad habits  3) Verbalize: your opinion on why drug addicts shouldn't do drugs  4) Wise-decision making skills  5)  Save-your life and others  6)  Provide-advice for a happy, healthy life
